Glitter & Spice {A Creatives Workshop}

This past Saturday, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a local craft workshop, Glitter & Spice, which was hosted by Brier Rose Design. Collette of Brier Rose Design put so much pretty detail into this wonderfully inspirational day. From her gorgeous floral design, sparkly decor, unique crafts and the yummy food choices, this event made for a perfect afternoon.

Once we arrived and met several other like minded ladies over hot cider and coffee, we settled in with full dishes of delicious entrees. While we enjoyed our vegetable pasta and salad with feta cheese, each of us listened as Christa from Christa Mortimore Photography and Publish spoke to us about her journey as a business owner. There's always something to take away from hearing someone else's story of striving to use their God given gifts to their full potential. It's inspiring to get to know someone behind their brand and where they came from as well as their future goals. Thank you so much for sharing Christa!

Afterwards, we gorged on scrumptious desserts and headed to the crafting table. We created floral arrangements in cute little pumpkins, wooden signs with pretty writing, faux candy apples and fall inspired wreaths.

We also had some fun with a few giveaways and took home some amazing swag to top it off!
Here's a little peek of my Saturday afternoon at Glitter & Spice. Enjoy.

My sweet and super talented friend, Tara from Laila's Charming Pieces. I'm so blessed to share this creative world with this gal. We are two peas in a pod. Love you girly!
It was so great to finally meet these ladies!! Thank you so much Colette for hosting this event and your attention to pretty detail. I'm so excited to be a part of your future workshops!

Christa, you are truly talented and amazing! Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring each and every one of us. You will certainly accomplish great things!

Sara, you are SO kind-hearted. Thank you for opening your beautiful house to all of us gals. I wish you and your husband the very best in your adoption journey and photography endeavors. BEAUTIFUL!

If you have been to any workshops lately, what has been your favorite and what have you learned?

Happy Tuesday my friends!

A bridal photo shoot featuring Love Sparkle Pretty lace bridal caps

I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with the very talented Marilyn of Marilyn Duvall Photography out in Texas. I sent her a couple of my bridal caps including a brand new one that will be available in the shop come December!

She worked with another photographer, Catherine who modeled beautifully as a bride. Although it ended up raining after Marilyn started shooting, the photos still came out really pretty. That's the thing about photo shoots, you never know what weather you're going to get once you step outside and start snapping away (like that time I found myself in a photo shoot in the middle of a storm)! It's part of the adventures of shoots though.

Here are some of the photos captured by Marilyn featuring Love Sparkle Pretty bridal pieces.
This delicate point de esprit lace bridal cap will be available in the shop come December (after shop vacation).
This intricate lace bridal cap is available in the shop here.

It has been a bit crazy in my house since we are in the middle of escrow on our new home! I am SO excited to move into a bigger (& super cozy) space including a larger work room for all of my crafts that make up the Love Sparkle Pretty brand. As of right now, we should be moving Thanksgiving week, if not sooner. In the mean time, lots of packing will be underway as well as setting up and decorating our new home in time for the holidays and my son's 2nd birthday! EEEKKK!

I will be putting the shop on vacay in a few weeks and will reopen early December with new bridal pieces that I am so excited to share including the infamous seashell crown from this photo shoot!!

I'm not too sure on the exact vacation dates just yet but will keep you posted

You can still put in your orders until vacay time. If you have a wedding sometime next year, you can put your orders in now to secure your spots on the order list but they won't be sent out until after reopening of the shop.

Handmade Love featuring SheDoes Designs + DISCOUNT CODE!!

I am so passionate about the handmade business market and the love, value and craft that goes into pieces within handmade shops. Today, I am so excited to share my best friend's BRAND NEW Etsy shop, SheDoes Designs!

Crystal, my best friend since kindergarten, has put a lot of thought into creating her online shop of handcrafted infinity scarves, flower hair clips, sailor knot headbands and floral crowns.

Here is my beautiful friend and a little bit about her & SheDoes Designs in her own words:

"Hello, My name is Crystal, I am a 24 year old gal living her dream of creating beautiful things and being a daughter of the Lord. I decided to create SheDoes Designs because I wanted to use my gifts and talents to the fullest. It has been a long 2 year process of pushing myself through a lot of fears and doubts but here I am ready to take this new journey with my shop and the Lord by my side.
My whole desire for creating SheDoes Designs is to bring inspiration to women. After praying a lot for the name I was personally inspired by Proverbs 31:12 and that is how I got my shop name. I am so excited to design pretty pieces for you."

Look at a few of her gorgeous shop pieces!
This teal sailor knot headband is available here.

Recently {A Mommy Mission, A Photo Shoot, New PRETTIES & Pocahontas}

Recently....

As you may have noticed, I have been blogging less to spend more time with the family and really "being" with my son more rather than just "present." As a stay at home mom, I have the power to really instill qualities and teachings in my son if I just give my time. He needs my time more than anything else and I am learning this.

I am so used to having a long "to-do" list (I still have one but it has been shortened) and being so busy to get things done. I want to breathe and I feel like I'm being renewed as I go through the Mission of Motherhood study with the women's bible study Thursday mornings. The first time I came to this study, I was so overwhelmed and had an emotional down because of (what I thought) was my son's overbearing behavior while we were there. (If you have a strong-willed child, you may know exactly what I mean!) What I have come to realize was it wasn't my son, but my patience and my attitude that needed to change.

If you are a momma, this book is an AMAZING read and will help with the struggles, the teachings, the grace, finding so much to be thankful for and the soul-shifts that may need to take place within ourselves.

If I'm not with the family, I'm been cranking out several pretty custom orders including these garter sets for brides-to-be. You can get a custom garter set created just for you right here in my shop!

I also had the privilege once again to collaborate with Beyond the Wanderlust (as well as Jenni Bost from A Well Crafted Party) on a bridal-inspired photo shoot. I created 2 veil pieces including a long finger-tip veil which will be available in the shop soon! Here's just a sneak peek of the amazing shoot styled by Jenni Bost.

Speaking of veils, I also created this custom birdcage veil with the prettiest rhinestone detail. I may have to add this one to the shop too!

I created this dream catcher as a reminder of the big dreams I often think of and the abundant blessings that have been graced upon my family and I. These blessings certainly include the beautiful home we just opened escrow on TODAY!!!!!!! I'm SO excited!

I also created some recent hoop art during Levi's nap time. I adore this new craft I have started. It's so relaxing!

I gifted this anchor hoop to one of my dearest of friends, Megan.

These woodland inspired hoops currently sit on my mantel. Love. Love. Love them!

I was Pocahontas for the day at Disneyland as a sweet birthday gift from Megan. We had such a great "mommy trip" and was able to ride every single ride we wanted to! Not to mention we also left with 2 full bags of candy EACH from the trick or treating we did there. Some serious kids at heart.

Homemade pretzels were also created in our household recently and I will leave you with these tasty treats. If you haven't had homemade pretzels, you should. Not only are they delish, but it's a great workout for your arms. Hence, the pretzel bites because my arms got too sore!

Have a beautiful weekend!
