{IG Auction} A Winter-Inspired Children's Crown for a Good Cause

From November 4th-8th, Pamela from MacDonald's Playland will be hosting an auction on Instagram to help raise money for children and women affected by homelessness and domestic violence through their charity, Project Lead Kindly. You can follow along with the auction at @AuctionLeadKindly on IG here to place your bids. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY!!

To help raise money for PLK, I've created a one of a kind children's floral crown created with peach, ivory and sage green hues with a bit of gold detail. The crown is attached to 2 ivory shear ribbons for an adjustable fit for ages 3-10. This pretty piece is also lined with soft felt fabric for a comfortable wear paired with a little one's favorite outfit. The starting bid is just $10 so follow us on IG at @LoveSparklePretty and @AuctionLeadKindly to stay up to date on the auction. Place your bid on the crown HERE-Remember, today is the LAST DAY!

Speaking of charities, there is another that is dear to me, Operation Smile. While I was going to school to become a nurse, I remember learning about different congenital defects that can happen within developing fetuses-one of them being the cleft lip and cleft palate. There are several difficulties and infections that can occur with someone who is born with this, including difficulty eating and speaking, ear disease, dental problems and more. Since I was in school then, I was able to help out with this charity just by renting some of my textbooks from Campus Book Rentals (you know how expensive it is to buy textbooks these days). They donate to Operation Smile with each book rented!

For over 30 years, Operation Smile has been performing safe surgeries for those in developing countries suffering from cleft lip and cleft palate. What's even more amazing is that those performing the surgeries and providing healthcare for these underprivileged children are all volunteers! So beautiful! You can read more about this cause right here.

Below are just a couple of children that have been positively impacted and treated by Operation Smile.

Lucas, a sweet 5 year old boy from Brazil got a new start and was able to attend school once again after being bullied for his cleft lip. Read more about his story here.

Precious little Chisomo from Malawi, suffered from malnutrition due to his cleft lip and cleft palate but was finally able to get his surgery done after regaining health. Read more of Chisomo's story here.

What are some of your favorite charities and causes to support?

**A portion of this post his been sponsored but all of the opinions and statements are my own. I truly believe in both of these causes.**

A Little Announcement. CHANGE.

A little announcement.

I've decided to make a few changes. One being my branding, which I'm working on right now (a new look to the blog shall make it's way here soon) and another with my Instagram account.

I've struggled with my space on Instagram for a while trying to find a balance with sharing my personal life mixed with my business/shop/creative side of my life. Since I feel like both sides don't quite resonate with my community, I've decided to create another account dedicated to sharing life behind Love Sparkle Pretty

On my new account, @Kayla.LSP I will be able to share life as a wife to an amazing man, momma to a crazy, lovable little boy as well as my faith, blessings and struggles.

With this change, it gives me a bit more freedom without feeling selfish for posting about my creativity (because honestly, that has been weighing heavily). So, I ask that you also follow along with this "real, beautiful but somewhat crazy life"- @Kayla.LSP and I will keep my original @LoveSparklePretty space for inspiring creatives, photographers, brides, girls who like "pretty things" as well as shop related updates/sales, photo shoots and new pieces I'm working on.

Thank you to everyone for your love and support!!

Instagram Arm Candy GIVEAWAY

It's a bit hectic in the craft room today + a dentist appointment + house hunting so I will keep this post short and sweet.
Last night, I posted a giveaway on my Instagram just because and I wanted to share it with all of you as well.
I will be adding pretty little bracelets to the shop soon but before I do, I wanted to give you a chance to win a set!
You could win this pretty little mint and gold combo by following me on Instagram (@lovesparklepretty) and re-posting this photo with #lovesparklepretty. Simple right?
I will be choosing the winner tomorrow around noon. GOOD LUCK my friends!

Recently...{a swap not shop event + mommy of 3 + a beautiful moment}

Recently...
I had a root beer, listened to country music and started on a garter (so excited to show the finished product soon)!

I attended a "Swap not Shop" event. AMAZING! Left with some pretty great stuff! Photo courtesy of Aurora. Thanks for hosting friend. :)

I saw some beautiful photos taken by Kristen Booth of a veil and sash from my shop.
My husband surprised me with Starbucks in bed. He's the best!

That Starbucks gave me the energy to be a mommy of 3 for a couple hours. :)

Started eating these delicious and healthy snacks. Seriously, YUMMY!

I sent these pretties out to Grace from Beyond the Wanderlust for a styled photo shoot!

I saw this fun photo taken by Lena B featuring photo props from my shop!

Had some bedhead.

I witnessed this beautiful moment. Love my boys.

&...My son found the wipes.

Recently...through the lens of an iPhone

Recently I...
Went to floral design class and stopped by the mirror for a bathroom pic. Myspace memories??

Went on a movie and lunch date with the husband.

We had Panera for lunch.

Received my books as a "gift" from school for my Wedding/Event Planning course.

Purchased a new full length mirror from Target. Now I don't have to stand on the bed to see my entire outfit.

Ate one of the BEST chocolate and vanilla cheesecakes ever by GU.

Watched my boys read a book together. :)

Wore my first Jumper.

Played in a fort that my husband made for Levi and I.

Took my son through the car wash. His facial expressions were priceless! Those eyes melt my heart. <3

Rocked Janis. <3

Packed for the Elevate Blog Conference with my Gussy Sews camera strap, Edeenut ruffled zipper pouch, 31 BITS bracelet and vintage bag from Salvaged Strawberry. I ended up coming home though after the conference and not staying the night after all. I promise the review post for this event will be up soon! :)

Got ready to attend Elevate in Huntington.

Saw the cutest table display.

Ate some yummy desserts.

Finished a really cool craft project (which I also shared in this post).

Started working on some new pieces.

Finished a headpiece for Friday's boho inspired shoot that will be captured by Kayla V Photography.
Follow on Instagram + Twitter for more behind the lens recents.

Just entered the "iPhone dark side"

Yesterday, I was FINALLY able to upgrade my phone! Since January, I have had my super ancient Droid Eris because my son broke my Droid 3 (which I loved) by drooling all over it. Ha! You can read a bit more about that incident right here.
Since then, I have been patiently waiting to get a new phone and have all of my apps back including Instagram, Starbucks and Joanns to name a few. I also downloaded the Vine app because I have heard some great things but I still haven't used it yet. What do you think about it?

I have now entered the "iPhone dark side"...
