Recently. {pretty pieces + free coffee + naps}

Lately, I have been a busy body working on several different orders ranging from wedding pieces to cute flower hairpieces. It's such a blessing to do what I love!
I'm still trying to juggle a busy "work schedule" with home life and it's a little difficult since I work from home. Although I make my own schedule, I still have deadlines to meet and people counting on me so getting into a routine is my challenge. If you have any advice, this wife, mommy and handmade business owner would much appreciate it! :)
In the mean time, here are some of my recent orders/pieces of handcrafted love.
{enjoy}

This was a custom order of boutonnieres that I just sent out to Illinois. It was such a pleasure to work with the bride on her adornments for the guys. Although there was a lot of "mind changing" on her end, this bride was so funny and positive which made working with her a joy! I can't wait to see the photos of the big day!

These 3 hairpieces were made for a really good friend of mine. They are so fun and perfect for spring!

For the first time, I created a garter set (yes I am admitting this) and I absolutely ADORE them! I used vintages broaches, rhinestones, feathers, chiffon, and hand cut lace to create these pretty little treasures. I have another custom order for a garter set and will be adding garters to the shop soon!

This antique-inspired boutonniere just went out to Georgia to adorn a prom date. I love getting orders for high school homecoming dances and prom! Reminds me of those funny memories that seem to have taken place so long ago.

This one of a kind bridal hairpiece was sent out to Alabama for a wedding that is actually taking place tomorrow! So happy for this bride and I can't wait to see the photos!

That's about it for the sharing of some recent orders. Makes me so happy to be able to send a little piece of my craft room to someone else's doorstep miles away. :)

Other than working in the craft room, I have also:
*started a new devotion in the book of Matthew
*received a free cup of coffee from Starbucks (whoop!)
*killed a gigantic spider while just about having an anxiety attack
*been puked on by my oh so adorable son
*received {just because} flowers from the husband

*opened up my new Gussy Sews package-hello super cute camera strap cover

*made an entire platter of food for women's bible study-pretty proud of myself because I will usually just pick something up from the store
*took a small afternoon nap because sometimes, the need succeeds the want

Have a beautiful weekend my friends!

Real Wedding-featuring Feathered Boutonnieres from {Love Sparkle Pretty}

I love when people give me their ideas to bring to life because I get to create something that I may not have made otherwise. A while back, Lin (a bride-to-be at the time) contacted me about creating something new for her wedding day. Together, we created completely customized boutonnieres for her groom and groomsmen using a pretty color combo of feathers and crystal brooches. The crystal brooches were actually sent to me via snail mail from Lin which she already had and wanted me to incorporate them into the boutonnieres. This new design plan of her boutonnieres came out oh so {pretty} and are still one of my favorite pieces yet! I shared the boutonnieres in this post a while back when I finished them and Lin just recently sent me a few photos of her wedding day. It looked like so much fun and she made such a beautiful bride!

Here is what she had to say about Love Sparkle Pretty.

"I am very particular in what I like and Kayla nailed the design swiftly after I showed her my wedding color palette. The boutonnieres turned out exactly how I have envisioned and the execution is exquisite. It is obvious she is passionate at what she does and her work will definitely make my big day a little more beautiful with no doubt." -Lin

These are some of the photos taken by Bill McDad on Roel & Lin's wedding day.

See lots more of their gorgeous wedding here.

Lots of new pieces created!!

It's funny, although I announced that was I "back from my break" in my last post, my blog has not seen a single new post since then!

{P.S. Thank you so much for your guys' love & support too! Whether it was a beautiful comment you sent me, an email, phone call, or just simply following and reading my posts--I really appreciate it!}

Sorry for such quiet time around here...
I really have been quite the busy little lady outside of the bloggy world!

I wanted to share what I have created recently and what I am still working on (although not every piece will be shown).
I made this custom boutonniere for a wedding in Canada this past week. The bride contacted me with a unique design and I put my own little creativity into it and
{TADA}!
It's certainly not like any other design I have made before. Love it!
I made this matching set for my good friend and her little girl on the way. It's a momma flower and a baby headband made from pink chiffon fabric, black marabou feathers, and black glass beads.

This is a custom bridal piece I am working on for a wedding in Australia. I added a bit of detail to match the brides dress with handsewn beads, lace, satin, chiffon, crystals and feathers. When the piece is completely done, I will post more about it! It is a bit of a different version of "Perfect Elegance" which is available here in the shop!

This is a custom headband made for a 3 year old flower girl in a wedding coming up this weekend. It turned out so stinkin' cute with light pink peony petals, champagne and ivory lace, pearl detail, a crystal brooch, and ivory stretch lace for the headband.

I sent out this dainty rosette necklace to my blog giveaway winner--Desirae from Going with the flow. :)
I made this custom dainty rosette necklace for a wonderful customer in Germany. She asked for red rosettes with turquiose beads and I made just that! You can purchase your own rosette necklace here in the shop. :)

I made this custom wedding hairpiece to match a brides wedding dress sash with a polka dot guinea feathers and chiffon. I love the layers of the light and airy petals!

I also sent out another "Tiffany" hairpiece which is one of the "original" pieces from
Love Sparkle Pretty.

As you can tell, It may look like I was still on a break but my poor blog has been the only one to suffer inactivity.
On top of these pieces (I also have a few more I am working on), I just started summer school this week!
DUN-DUN-DUUUNNNNNN

I'm hoping that my Nursing Pharmacology class will still allow me somewhat of a normal summer. We shall see about that though...so far, not looking like it.
In a positive light, I have a family reunion to attend this weekend! :)
Got to love those right? :)
I'm actually quite excited! I wonder how many "crazy" stories there will be?!?!

{Have a BEAUTIFUL weekend!}

Something Blue Boutonniere

I woke up bright and early this morning thankful that fall is finally in the air! I was ready to greet this day with a smile! :)
With a cup of hot cocoa in hand, I finished my nursing school application (it will be submitted in the morning) & then I started on a new little project because I just felt creative for a moment.
I created a cute little boutonniere for a wedding & I call it the

{Something Blue for the Groom}

{Enjoy}

I used a white goose biot feather, marabou feathers, white rooster tail feathers, dusty blue satin ribbon, brown twine, and a pearl pin to secure to the groom's wardrobe.

I also posted this boutonniere on my Etsy Shop and is ready for order.

Feathers!!!

This past weekend I was a lucky girl to have had the opportunity to create bouquets & boutonnieres for a beautiful wedding! They weren't the average floral arrangements though, they were made entirely out of white feathers--Goose Biots, Saddle Feathers, Marabou Feathers, Turkey Feathers, and Rooster Tail Feathers made up the galore of feathery creations!! The bride and her mother contacted me about a month ago in hopes that I can create their vision of an all feather bouquet and from there came we came up with the ideas for the rest of the wedding party! The color theme was black and white with hints of red and zebra print for the wedding and I used the zebra print in the brides bouquet as well as the grooms boutonniere to match.

The brides bouquet was the largest and most extravagant of all which is definitely suitable for her big day right? :) I also included crystals around the bouquet which are subtle but gorgeous in the sunlight!

I also made a mini version of the brides bouquet (without crystals) for the toss to all of the single ladies :)

For the maid of honor's bouquet, an all white color theme was chosen to go with her black and zebra print dress :)

The boutonnieres were chosen to be worn by the brides father, best man, & of course-the groom! :)

By the time I was done with all of these pieces, I looked like a "plucked turkey" according to my husband! :) The view of me sitting in a chair with white feathers on the floor all around me and the feathers sticking to my shirt, my hair, & who knows where else is pretty funny to think about but even though it was messy, it was so much fun to do! Thank you again Carrie & Samantha for giving me the opportunity to create cherished pieces for the beautiful wedding! I wish Samantha and Joey the best!
{With the permission of the bride, I will also post pictures of the wedding day with all of the bouquets and boutonnieres soon! :)}
