{DIY Cake Topper} using pipe cleaners!

I can't get enough of all the cute details Valentine's day has to offer! Today, I wanted to share a super easy, super cute, and super quick DIY topper for "love day" or any day really (I think every day should be "love day").
All you need is pipe cleaners, hot glue and tooth picks!
I used a gold sparkly pipe cleaner and shaped it into the word "LOVE" and then also used a red sparkly pipe cleaner to create a small heart.
Once you're done with the shaping, just glue little tooth picks to the piped word/shape and stick them into some yummy dessert!

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

The craft room after dark {a photo sesh with my new camera!}

I just got my first DSLR camera which is attached to my hands now. I have been taking photos non-stop since I got my lens-which I had to drive about 45 mins away from home to get but lets not go on a tangent now.
My first "subject" was my son whom I pretty much just stalked around the house and captured his little moments of curiosity. It wasn't as easy as I thought it might be seeing how Levi is just a bottle of energy and very quick on his tiny feet! :) I will share some of those photos later but for now, here is a little photo sesh of my craft room after dark. Mind you, these photos were taken the very first night I got my new camera and I am still a newbie so be nice please. :)

The silence of the house.
The dim lighting.
A glimmer of sparkle.
The untouched fabric.
A little haven.

Where do you go for inspiration?

I am so excited to be guest posting over at Going with the Flow today! I will be showing you how to make these darling little valentine envelopes with paper doilies and tissue paper.
Go check out my post and leave some love. :)

Ooooohhh dreaming in PRETTY flowers!

Seeing how I start my new floral design class in exactly one week, I see it fitting that I share some of my recent favorite floral arrangements that I'm excited to try!
Since Spring is just around the corner, so are some of the best flowers and I'm dying to get my hands on some blush and coral peonies! They are my favorite flower!
How beautiful are these arrangements?!
Only one more week away! :squeal:

A baby seal mug + I need questions PLEASE! :)

Today seemed like such a quiet day. Other than the great morning at church and giving my little speech on a new mission I'm leading (p.s. I didn't faint like I thought I would! lol), I feel as if today was just...quiet. I came home really tired which happens a lot seeing how I have hypothyroidism and just feel lazy. Does anyone else seem to be having those "lazy days" more frequently?
Superbowl came around and you know what I did? Watched half time on my computer (B was amazing by the way)!
I have a few orders I need to finish tonight and as much as I love to create pieces, I can't be "creative" all the time-though most of the time I certainly can be. I'm just tired tonight.
BUT, I'm determined to snap out of it with this cup of craziness...a.k.a. peppermint mocha coffee straight from our kitchen!
{Cheers!}
^Isn't my baby seal mug cute? I got it when my husband and I took a trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific.

By the way, I have been thinking about doing my first vlog post and would love to answer some questions about almost anything! Ask away please! :)

A Thoughtful Thursday!

Here are my thoughts from this past week:

*I have waited waaayy too long for this bad boy! I finally got my gold card from Starbucks in the mail! I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing seeing how Starbucks is ridiculously overpriced...definitely my guilty pleasure. :)

*These custom pretty little pieces are going to look sooo cute on an adorable little gal. :)

*I'm not going to lie, I am pretty nervous about leading a new mission in our church...but my excitement overwhelms my fear. Let's pray I don't faint while I give a speech.

*I love my friend Zayda from Thrifty Little Z for sending me a photo of her new necklace I made her.

*I'm oh. so. ecstatic about my first blog conference this year! I just bought my ticket to Elevate this morning. After driving to Starbucks to get free wifi on my way to bible study, I was able to purchase the tickets right at 9am when they started to go on sale! P.S. You should go too!

*Almost done saving up for my new camera! I have been knocking out orders like crazy to save. I will have my first DSLR baby on Monday!

*I'm way too happy about all of my new followers! Hello new friends! :)

*I may just have to make one of these necklaces for myself. I made this one for a dear friend of mine and fell in love.

*Can't wait to dive into my cheese pizza that is sitting on the counter for me RIGHT. NOW. Yummmm!
Have a beautiful day! :)

A challenge that {failed} miserably!

At the beginning of this month, I commited to a photo a day challenge hosted by fat mum slim. I was really excited because this would be the first where I would actually complete the whole challenge via instagram, every day...or so I thought!
About a week ago, my dearest son was playing with my phone (nothing new-that phone has gone through all sorts of torture). When I got it back, it was covered-COVERED in drool! I started wiping it all away and not worrying much because it has certainly happened before. What I didn't realize was that since he's getting his molars in and drooling profusely, that drool somehow seeped behind my phone cover and into the screen of my phone rendering it helpless and eventually dead! Since my upgrade isn't until April, I had to activate my old phone which of course does't get Instagram and if I want to send photos to my computer, it becomes a pain in the butt because I have to hook it up to the computer and all that jazz. Long story short-->baby drool=dead phone=no instagram=no completed challege! I did however make it about half way through the month so here's what I captured:

Day One: {Today} Snuggled up with warm fuzzy socks and peppermint hot cocoa

Day Two: {Something New} Finished a custom bridal piece that went out to Indonesia

Day Three: {Heart} While at the San Diego Zoo, I found this sweet book :)

Day Four: {View from here} Right outside of Joanns, a.k.a. my second home
+ Day Five: {Movement} Car ride with the husband for a late night Jack in the Box craving

Day Six: {Mine} Hot peppermint cocoa with whip cream

Day Seven: {Street} Find beauty in the broken

Day Eight: {Something that starts with a "T")} Tea cup! From the little Valentine photoshoot I did right here

Day Nine: {Paper} My paper heart-also, from the mini Valentine shoot

Day Ten: {One O' Clock} My craft table at 1
Day Eleven: {Water} No water please in my hot soy chai. Yum!

Day Twelve: {Surprise} A surprise double date to Lucille's!! Delish!

Day Thirteen: {Circle} my wedding ring-a symbol of unconditional love

Day Fourteen: {Yellow} an Ambrosia apple of course!

Day Fifteen: {An Ordinary Moment} in a tire swing with my little man. I will miss these days as he grows up way too fast!

Day Sixteen: {Two} reunited with my dear friend Zayda! P.S. check out her new (amazing) blog at Thrifty Little Z. She's got talent people! :)

Day Seventeen: {Ready} ready to dive into the newest study!

...and that's it folks!! I throughly enjoyed it while it lasted. :)
Maybe come April, I will try another photo a day challenge. Until then, I can take pretty photos on my new DSLR camera I am getting next weekend! Whoop!

Have a beautiful day friends!
